District Team United for Students

Serving lunches to all students during a shutdown is a difficult ask.  Even more difficult when nearly fifty percent of district kitchen support are at high risk of infection and released to avoid contracting COVID 19.

West Valley teachers and administrators have come together the last few weeks to ensure student needs are being met.  Knowing the overwhelming pressure place upon our Child Nutrotion department, volunteers kept coming for the support of our students.

Principals Russ Tuman and Eva Lust have not missed one day in the last two weeks.

"It's important to find ways to help" Russ Tuman says.

Most impressive is the logistics and coordination by our Child Nutrition Director.  Organizing a staff of volunteers is not an easy task.

Today Child Nutrition staff and volunteers service 1700 children with meals for the next five days, totalling 8500 total individual meals.

West Valley is more than a school district but a community.
